Hi.
Can someone please suggest STATA code for merging child file (12-23 months) with their mother characteristics
I am using the following code -
use IAKR7DFL.DTA, clear
merge m:1 (v001 v002 v003) using IAIR7DFL.dta
keep if _merge==3
save IAKR7DFLNEW.DTA, replace

Just want to know if it is the correct way. Please suggest.
Thanks

Following is a response from Senior DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

This type of question has been answered a few times on the forum. The KR file includes virtually all of the mother's data on the same record as the child's data. You do not need to merge with the IR file. The KR and BR files are simply reshaped versions of the IR file.
