Hello

Thank you in advance for your help with this.
I am pooling multiple surveys together. My unit of analysis is a"couple". I am hoping to identify the LAST birth for the women in the pair and merge this birth to her "couple's" information. To do so I have a) subsetted the KR file to midx = 1 (last birth index). b) merged the dataset from "a" to the CR based on v001, v002, v003 for each survey of interest. Essentially my "base" is a couple (CR) since I am interested in the last birth.

I wanted to confirm that this is correct. Many thanks for your feedback.

Yes, that approach is correct. For the India surveys you need to include v024 in the ID.
