Dear All, I want to take the residence of mothers as one of my research predictor variables for my analysis. So, I got V012 and V102 for types of place of residence. Then what is the difference between the two variables' assignation? I want to use BMI as one of my variables but I couldn't get it yet. Thanks for your cooperation.

Thank you for submitting your question. Could you please provide the following missing information, which surveys you are using (Include country name and year)?

Following is a response from DHS staff member Tom Pullum:

In all surveys, v012 is single years of age and v102 is childhood place of residence. In this survey the question for v102 was not actually asked. The usual variable for type of place of residence (urban/rural) is v025. I believe that's what you are looking for.
