Hi,

I was wondering that does it make sense to compare two (or more) countries with two different years of data for the same purpose? For instance, comparing Afghanistan 2015 with Albania 2017 since there isn't any mutual year of the dataset? otherwise comparing across countries is so limited

Following is a response from DHS staff member Tom Pullum:

Such a comparison would have to be justified. 2015 and 2017 are close and those are the only years available for comparing those two countries with DHS data. But you would need to provide a reason for selecting those two countries--there are so many differences between them. You'd have to think hard about why the comparison could be useful.
