Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

The Under-5 mortality rates are always calculated from the BR file. The data for tables 12.9 through 12.12 in the NFHS-4 and -5 report are in the HR files. The questions about deaths in the household in the past two years are not standard for DHS surveys

Many thanks for the kind response. I am finding it difficult to map the DHS guidelines: https://dhsprogram.com/data/Guide-to-DHS-Statistics/Adult_Mo rtality_Rates.htm and the HR file variables for the age specific mortality in NFHS-5.

I would like to request for help.

Regards
Lincoln

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

I am working on the construction of tables 12.9-12 in the NFHS-5 report. These are not standard tables. We will post a response soon.
