In NFHS4 India children(KR) file the caseid is formed by merging v001(cluster no) v002(household no) and v003(respondent line number)
Can anyone please let me know how is the caseid formed for children file(KR) for NFHS5 india?

Following is a response from DHS staff member Tom Pullum:

The full unique identifier for children is v024 v001 v002 v003 bidx. Here, everything up to bidx identifies the mother, and bidx is the index for the child, with 1 for the most recent birth. If you are planning to merge the PR and KR, however, the line number of the child in the PR file (if IN the PR file) is b16. There have been several posts on this.
