Suggested addition for male and female questionnaires.
Why was condom used at last intercourse---family planning, STI prevention or both?
This question should be reinstated. It is useful for measuring the relative importance of prevention of STI/HIV vis a vis prevention of unintended pregnancy. Previous analysis of the data suggests that young people, both men and women, tend to use condoms more for prevention of unintended pregnancy than STI/HIV. Continued collection of this data can help to measure trends in this behavior, educate men and women about efficacy of the method for prevention of both risks, and also help to better promote access to,and use of condoms.
Thank you,
