Suggested addition to both male and female questionnaires for the respondent's very last sex.
1. Did you use any method to delay or avoid getting pregnant the last time you had sexual intercourse? 2. If yes, which method(s) did you use? [PROVIDE OPTIONS AS IN Q309]

The standard question(Q308 & Q309) in the family planning section offer some insight into current use however it's unclear just how recent this use is and whether it's the most recently used method. Currently the survey only collects information about condom use with the three most recent partners. Adding this question will provide more complete information about current(and more recent) contraceptive behavior with all partners. Similar questions on contraceptive use at last sex in the NSFG has been found to be very useful.
