Hello,
I am trying to study early childhood overweight and obesity using DHS Sierra Leone 2019. I have the following questions it would be great if you could help me.
1. Maternal BMI (HC73)
There are several items for HC 73. HC 73_1 up to HC 73_6.
What are the differences?
2. Maternal Education (HA66)
There are several items for maternal education. HA66_1 up to HA66_8.
What are the differences?
3. District in Sierra Leone (not province)
Which variable/s is representing the districts?
4. Access to mass media
Which variable/s is representing the mass media?
Thank you!!
Mari

Following is response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:
Thanks for telling us that you are using the HR file, which has one record per household. The subscripts (_1, _2, etc.) refer to specific children. It will be easier if you use the PR file, which has one record per person (adult or child). It's a "long" version of the HR file. You can also use the KR file, which has one record per child for all the children of the women in the survey. It includes children who have died or live separately from the mother, although (of course) the anthropometry variables are limited to the children who were alive and in the household. The "hc" variables in the PR file are "hw" variables in the KR file.
