Suggested addition:
Information on the incidence of induced abortion, condition under which women have abortions and the consequences of unsafe abortion are important to our understanding of women's reproductive health challenges and service needs. This information is key to addressing maternal morbidity and mortality since unsafe abortion is a major contributor. This evidence can also help us quantify the consequences of the unmet need for contraception and can be used to convince stakeholders to invest in reducing unsafe abortion and its consequences by preventing unintended pregnancy. We propose adding the following questions to the female questionnaire to collect this information. See attachment
