Disability is an issue of the utmost importance. This is why we strongly endorse the ‎inclusion of (at least) the WG short set of 6 questions for the general population within the DHS. Those questions are the result of a close co-operation among national statistical agencies and international organizations, and of a long testing and validation process. We believe that inclusion of those questions will substantially enhance knowledge on the diffusion of disability across the world, while improving comparability of national statistics on disability and providing policy makers with essential information. For all of the above, Istat has already included the WG short set the 2011 Census.
