Hi,

My name is Dinel, I'm doing a master in Canada. I'd like to study the impact of the early motherhood on the level of the education of the teenagers through a logit multinomial model. My problem is that all the ladies in the survey have at least one kid (v201). Is there a way to see all the ladies that have kids and those who do not have kids please? Or is there any variable in the database that gives that information please?

Kind regards,

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:

I think you must be looking at the file for children--the KR file. If you go to the IR file, in which women age 15-49 are the cases, there are women who have no children. You also have the woman's age at her first birth, v212. Both v201 and v212 will be relevant for whether a young woman was able to continue her schooling.

Hello,

Thank for that quick answer.

I'm using the file called "HTBR71FL". Is it the right one please?
If Yes, Could you please please tell me the name of the variable I'll get the information please ?
