Dear all,

I am currently working with Household survey dataset for all African countries for all survey rounds available.
I would like to know why the survey datasets are not available for northern part of Africa like Algeria, Tunisia etc and other countries like Somalia, Eritrea.

Also I would like to know if same households are interviewed in subsequent rounds and how can I be able to track such households in the dataset.

Thank you

You can view a list of available datasets at: https://dhsprogram.com/data/available-datasets.cfm. Please be aware that The DHS Program does not dictate the countries surveyed.

DHS surveys are cross-sectional surveys that are based on independent samples of PSUs. It is very unlikely that the same cluster will be selected in successive surveys, and especially unlikely that the same households or individuals will be sampled. However, there is no way to tell whether that has happened, since the identifiers for the selected clusters and households are not retained.
