Request for a revision
1. Rationale: to enable us to better understand and intervene on the cascade of risks leading to child mortality, it would be extremely valuable to acquire information on the vaccination status of children who die, as well as those who survive.
2. Suggested change
Woman's questionnaire
Question 503: Currently, the question distinguishes living from dead children and skips questions 504 to 553 for a child who is dead.
We request that questions 504 through 510G be asked concerning all children, alive or dead. Questions 511 to 553 would then be skipped for a child who is dead.
This information would help in developing mediation analyses and, eventually, equity-oriented interventions for children at higher mortality risk.
