Dear DHS user,

I would like to get some inputs from you for my master's thesis. I am interested in using DHS datasets and have been guided by my supervisor to investigate spatial heterogeneity structure in childhood morbidity. What possible methods you can suggest. I have not developed any specific research question or hypothesis, but I was thinking first to identify the specific method.

Looking forward for both criticisms and suggestions.
Regards

Sara

Dear Sara,
The DHS Program has published a few reports using various spatial analysis methods and DHS data.

You might specifically be interested in Spatial Analysis Report 12.

Also in using any GPS located data please note that we geo-mask the data to protect confidentiality of respondents, this means that some of the spatial relationship of the data is destroyed. (See Spatial Analysis Reports 7 and 8).

There is also a lot of published literature using DHS GIS data that you might review, some of these are recorded on our website as well.
Using the publication search on our website select Geographic Information under the topics list.
