Hi there,

I am currently using the DHS 1992 Survey for Namibia, however I have a problem. 175 representative area units were demarcated for the survey across the country, and each individual observation is coded to correspond to a particular area unit. But right now I cannot find information on where each code corresponds to in terms of actual geographical area. Is there a demarcated physical map of Namibia used for the survey in 1992 or a shapefile that illustrates where each area unit is? I'm not looking for GPS data or data on Namibian administrative areas, just the map of the area units created for the survey that shows how the survey was administered.

Many thanks for your help,

Lachlan

Dear User,
Please see the response from one of our GIS experts, Mr. Matt Pagan:

While the codes for the area units are within the data file, these are survey generated numbers and do not correspond to any information that we have on file, including any sort of physical map or shapefile. Please note that the Namibia 1992 survey is only representative to the three DHS regions. You can view a map of these regions or download a shapefile of them on our Spatial Data Repository at: http:// spatialdata.dhsprogram.com/boundaries/#view=map&countryI d=NM&surveyId=48&level=1
