Hello Team,
We are a team of researchers from New Jersey, reproducing Table 10.4 from the Nigeria DHS 2024 final report (FR395) -- the percentage of children aged 1223 months fully vaccinated against basic antigens (BCG, 3 doses of pentavalent, 3 doses of polio excluding the birth dose, 1 dose of measles) -- using the KR file in Stata and in R.
To rule out our own coding, we ran the official CH_VAC.do and CH_VAC.R from the DHS-Indicators-Stata/R repository on a fresh copy of the KR file. It produces a national estimate of 38.2%, whereas the final report states 39%.
We have confirmed the following are correct and consistent with the report:
Denominator: weighted N for living children 1223 months = 5,121, which matches the report exactly (2,604 male + 2,517 female from Table 10.2). Pentavalent component built from h3/h5/h7 with the standard dose-sum logic; polio from h4/h6/h8 excluding the birth dose; IPV (h60) not added; weight = v005/1,000,000.
For your reference, I have added the Excel sheet including our results, and for which states the values were slightly different. Could you please guide our team on the next steps to verify, and let us know if there have been any updates in the dataset since publishing the report? We may also provide you with the code we have run so far if needed.
