Hi, I am trying to calculate early childhood mortality. The dataset contains standard dhs variables. I utilized the sps files that you wrote. I tried to run the syntax but macros did not work. I also find similar codes in GitHub, but when it comes to run "define !endfine". it did not run or do anything. Is there a trick that I should be careful about? Thanks in advance

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

This program was originally written in Stata and then translated to SPSS (you refer to sps files so you must be using SPSS). The Stata and SPSS (and R) versions were tested and should work. Have you read the instructions for specifying the files, paths, etc.?

I do not recognize "endfine" at all. I don't want to open and search the files you attached, so can you just tell me the number of the line where this appears in the GitHub program? Maybe there's a typo....

I hope other users can help out.
