Hi,
When I was working with the 2022 Nepal DHS (NDHS) data, I found the results weird. For example, I found the years of interview 2078 and 2079, and the years of births of the children started from 2044. Could anyone please tell me why is this happening? Thanks in advance.

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

Nepal, Ethiopia, and Afghanistan have their own calendars. All dates in the surveys from these countries are given in their respective calendars. There have been several forum postings on the topic and you can also check the Guide to DHS Statistics and internet resources.
