Hello,

I was wondering whether the NFHS-4/NFHS-5 shapefiles from the DHS Spatial Data Repository show official borders for India as per the Indian government (so, the disputed areas are allocated to India)?

Kind regards,
Sarah

Our shapefiles for NFHS-4 and -5 do not include the disputed areas, so they do not align with the official boundaries used by the government of India. Our administrative shapefiles are aligned to the borders recognized by the US State Department. However, we do not consider our boundaries authoritative. They should only be used as a reference to show where DHS Program surveys were conducted.
