Dear DHS-Team,

I would greatly appreciate if you could please provide me with information on the villages from the DHS survey data 1996, 2001 and 2006 for Nepal instead of the numbers.

In case the numbers are the same over the 3 surveys, can you please provide the code and the names of each village and how they correspond to the numbers in the DHS datasets?
In case the numbers differ over the 3 surveys, can you please provide the names of each village and how they correspond to the numbers in the DHS datasets?

Thank you very much for your help on this!

Best,
David

Following is response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:

The identification of the clusters (PSUs) in the sampling frame is anonymized with a process of geographic displacement described here: https://www.dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/SAR8/SAR8.pdf. This is part of the larger procedures to protect the privacy of the respondents. The geographic location of the clusters has been altered and cannot be linked with the actual enumeration districts that were selected for the sample. That's the case for ALL DHS surveys.
