Can anyone please tell me how to combine categorical variable (d106&d107) to generate a single categorical variable that reflects just physical violence.

Dear user,

Please check the standard domestic violence code we have publicly available on our GitHub site (https://github.com/DHSProgram). Please read the readme file found in the Stata or SPSS repository.
Specifically, chapter 10 on domestic violence is found here ( https://github.com/DHSProgram/DHS-Indicators-Stata/tree/mast er/Chap17_DV) and your indicators of interest are in the DV_viol.do file if you are using Stata. You can find the indicators starting from line 183 in this do file.
