Dear DHS Representative,

I am using the BR file of Pakistan DHS (2017-18).

I want to look at the proportion of neonates that were weighted at the time of delivery.

How I can find my information.

Best Regards

Dr. Hussain

Following is a response from DHS Research & Data Analysis Director, Tom Pullum:

For children who were weighed, birthweight is given by m19 in the KR and BR files. The label is as follows:

. label list M19
M19:
9996 not weighed at birth
9998 don't know

All of the other numeric codes correspond are weights in kilograms (multiplied by 1000). About 16% of children have codes other than 9996 or 9998, i.e., were weighed.
