I am trying to analyze the data based on the duration of absent of husband (spousal separation) in Nepal 2016 DHS dataset. I have identified the variable name v505 for husband is away or not but not able to identify the variables for duration away from home. These information are presented in DHS table 3.2 (Nepal DHS published report 2016). Could you let me know the variable name of duration away from home based on table 3.2?

Dear User, I found 4 variables in the questionnaires referencing being away:
In the Woman's questionnaire:
Q124 In the last 12 months, how many times have you been away from home for one or more nights?
Q125 In the last 12 months, have you been away from home
for more than one month at a time?
The recode variables are as follows:
For Q124, recode variable V167
For Q125, recode variable V168

In the Man's questionnaire:
QM124 recode variable MV167
QM125 recode variable MV168

You mentioned V505 which was constructed from Q706
I think what you might be looking for is a country/survey specific variable for Q704A For how long have you and your husband not been living together?
The country specific variable is S704A Time not been living together with husband

Hope this helps.
