Dear Forum Users,

I'm looking for detailed information on the use of history/event calendars in DHS surveys as tools to determine the date of birth of children with unknown date of birth. To improve measures of undernutrition, the use of such calendars is recommended by FAO (http://www.fao.org/docrep/pdf/011/aj984e/aj984e00.pdf).
The use of historic calendars to determine age of adults seems common in DHS surveys, it is often mentioned in Survey Reports, but I couldn't find details on the use for children's date of birth.
I found a reference to the Togo 2013 DHS using such a tool (Comandini O, Cabras S, Marini E. Birth registration and child undernutrition in sub-Saharan Africa. Public health nutrition 2016), but couldn't find details in the Survey Report or questionnaires.

Where can I find more information on this topic, especially: Which surveys did or didn't use historic/event calendars to determine dates of birth? Are these calendars documented and accessible?

I highly appreciate any additional information, references and suggestions.
Best
