Hi,

I'm trying to use the pregnancy history data from the Colombia 2005 and 2010 surveys. In the case of terminations (i.e. pregnancies that do not end with a live birth; abortions, miscarriages, etc.) The datasets (Individual recode) include the number of terminations but I can only find the type of termination, date, and duration of pregnancy for to the last termination (Q239 and Q252 in the 2005 and 2010 questionnaires respectively) but not for previous terminations.

According to the questionnaires, this information should be available.** Is there a way to access to it?

Thank you,

Dear User, A response from senior data processing expert, Mr. Guillermo Rojas:
Quote:

Terminations as well as their durations are defined in column 1 of the calendar ( variable Vcal_1). Each position in the calendar is associated to a date and they are represented by T followed by as many Ps. The pregnancy duration for the terminations are therefore defined by one month for the T plus as many months as Ps preceded. Variable V017 define the Century Month Code (CMC) of the start of the calendar and variable V018 define the row of the month of interview.

We have a new tool for working with calendar data. Check it out. https://www.dhsprogram.com/data/calendar-tutorial/
Thank you!
