Hi all,

I'm desperately trying to find a way to combine twins/triplets into a single delivery event. I am research repeat adolescent childbearing, so I need to know the date of delivery event, the mother's age at delivery event, and how many children were born at each delivery event. Would be immensely grateful for any help.

Best wishes
R

Dear User, You can start by looking at P40 of the Standard Recode6 manual. B0 is the variable for multiple births.
Quote:

Twin code gives an order number for each child of a multiple birth. Code 0 indicates a
single birth, code 1-upwards give the number of the child. Twins are ordered in the birth
history with the higher twin codes appearing before the lower twin codes.
The Standard Recode Manual can be found on our website:https:// dhsprogram.com/publications/publication-DHSG4-DHS-Questionna ires-and-Manuals.cfm
