I am using the DRC Dataset to practice different types of regressions and I had a few questions on your variables.

First, what is birth order, birth history, birth column, index to birth history and both interval? What is a child's line number? What are the difference between those?
Also what is the different between respondent's religion versus just religion?

You can also learn more about variables by checking the variable-specific documentation on the IPUMS-DHS website (at idhsdata.org). Click on "select data," choose the appropriate unit of analysis, and then use the Search function to find "variable descriptions" for variables of interest. Each of the thousands of variables in IPUMS-DHS includes online codes and frequencies, a description of the meaning of the variable and comparability issues, links to the related question wording, and information on who answered (or was included in) this variable. You can also locate variables of interest using the drop-down menu organized by topics. For guidance on using the website effectively, see the User Guide for beginners at: https://www.idhsdata.org/idhs/user_guide.shtml
