Hi!

I have a quick question regarding v803 in the individual recode data. When v803 says that the interview required 2+ visits to complete, does the rest of the information for that observation (v006, v007, v016, v801, v802, etc.) refer to the first visit or to the last one? If it refers to the last visit, is there any way, either in the flat or hierarchical file, to uncover on which day the first attempted interview took place?

Thanks so much!

Following is a response from Senior DHS Stata Specialist, Tom Pullum:

You could look at other interviews in the same cluster and infer the date of the first visit to the household. Usually the time interval spent in a cluster is very brief. v006 and v007 are the month and year of interview. It would hardly ever happen that these would be different on the last day than they were on the first day.
