Dear Sir or Madam,
Could you let me know what is the rationale for having two different variables about source of drinking water for HH members, e.g. in the HR file we have variable (hv201) and in the IR file we have variable (v113)? Is this for triangulating purposes, since would we expect that they in most cases should have the same response? I did a quick check in the Rwanda dataset (2015/2016 DHS) and the two variables give different figures for source of drinking water.
Thanks in advance for your response

A response from Senior Data Processing Expert, Mr. Guillermo Rojas:
Quote:

HV201 is at the household level and it is available to all households. V113 is at the individual level and it is restricted to de-jure interviews. If the respondent is de-facto, but no de-jure variable V113 is assigned code 97.
