Hi DHS,

We would like to look at school attendance status (advanced, repeating, dropout) for 15 or so countries in our study of early educational achievement in toxic waste site communities.

The school attendance status variable (HV129) is missing for many of our target countries.

Would you be willing to share the MEASURE DHS code (any programming language OK; SAS preferred) to calculate this variable? We can figure it out ourselves, but want to be sure that we are using the same definitions as MEASURE DHS, so our work is comparable with other published studies.

Thank you!

Dear Ann,
The best way I can help is to refer to what is already in our final reports. Is there a table you are trying to replicate? Once we have that starting point, I think we can successfully go from there.
Thank you!
