Hi all,

I am relatively new to the DHS and was wondering if there was a good summary on the exact data file that I should be using.
After downloading the section of files, there were many folders (br, cr, hr etc) and I was wondering what these differences are?

Sorry for the basic question, and thanks for any help!

*this is because I noticed that the number of variables for the different files are different - and i was wondering what are the conventions of naming the data files are.

Dear User,

You can find more guidance on the different recode/dataset types here: http://www.dhsprogram.com/data/File-Types-and-Names.cfm#CP_J UMP_10138. We hope to release a tutorial video on this in the next few weeks.

Additionally, we have a tutorial video that explains the naming conventions for datasets. https://youtu.be/puCCqGU71uM

Please let me know if you need additional assistance,
Thank you,
Sarah-DHS
