Hi,
I am conducting a secondary data analysis using the individual women's file from the Pakistan 2012-13 dataset.
In the 'Guide to DHS Statistics' it states the command to use in SPSS in order to apply the sampling weights, is as follows:

COMPUTE rweight = V005/1000000
WEIGHT by rweight.

I put this into my SPSS syntax and the following error occurs in the output window:
Error #4381 in column 1. Text: WEIGHT
> the expression ends unexpectedly
>execution of this command stops

Column 1 in the data view is the Case ID values. In addition I could not underline 'rweight' in the syntax, if this is (one of) the problems?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Emily

Kind Regards,
Emily

You are missing the period after "1000000".

COMPUTE rweight = V005/1000000.
WEIGHT by rweight.
