There are the following values for place of delivery in the 2011 EDHS Individual (women's ) data set:
10 = HOME
11 = Respondent's Home, 12 = Other Home, 20 = public Sector, 21 = Gov't Hospital
22 = Gov't HC, 23 = Gov't HS/Clinic, 24 = Gov't HP, 26 = other Public Sector
30 = Private Sector, 31 = Private Hospital, 32 = Private Clinic, 33 = NGO health facility
36 = Other private sector, 96 = Other
The questions are
• 10 = Home, is there room to place this value in one of the above homes? (Say where to place: - respondents home or other home); otherwise, I don't understand this value.
• 96 = Other (where is the place other than the given option that women to deliver)
I need your usually explanation on the codes I have the problem with. If you need further explanation for the question, please, don't hesitate to contact me. Looking forward to hear you soon.

Following is a response from Senior DHS Stata Specialist, Tom Pullum:

For this variable, the values 10, 20, and 30 do not actually occur in the data. They occur only in the value label. They are intended to help the user see the overall structure of the categories, in outline form. Many other variable labels have this kind of structure. 96 would be used for places that the interviewer could not fit into any of the other categories. There is no further information on what they are. The number of responses with this code should be small.
