I have been looking at working on analysis of malaria in Benin. I sub-setted the personal record for children under the age of 5 and then looked at malaria microscopy testing and rapid diagnostic testing results. The problem is that 12814 were marked as NA, while only 4588 were marked either as Negative, Positive, Missing in Lab, or Refused. I was wondering why so many were marked as NA?
I checked a final report but didn't find anything on the children under 5 being sub-sampled. If anyone would help me with this problem that would be great,
Corey

Der User,
Here is a response from malaria expert, Cameron Taylor:

Dear User,
You are correct that malaria testing in the Benin 2011-12 DHS was only conducted on a sub-set of children aged 6-59 months. You can find the description of the sample on page 12 of the final report under the section Test de la parasitémie palustre. This section describes that Les tests de parasitémie palustre ont été effectués dans un tiers de l'échantillon sur les enfants de 6-59 mois.
