Is it possible to pool scientifically peer reviewed publications that have used DHS data? perhaps since mid 1980s good review as a starting point is (Fabic et al. 2012)

Following is a response from our DHS experts:

I guess this refers to meta-analysis. My short answer would be yes, it is ok to pool, except when the different publications refer to the same data sets. If they do refer to the same data sets, then there will be double-counting and a bias in the direction of spurious consensus of findings. Tom Pullum

In addition to the articles listed in Fabic et al., the MEASURE DHS website has a list of 1348 articles using DHS data published in 374 peer-reviewed journals since October, 2003 (available at http://measuredhs.com/Publications/Journal-Articles-by-Journ al.cfm.). Fred Arnold
