Hi,
I have a paper using DHS data from 9 countries over time and since Turkey 2008 & 2013 data were recently released I was wanting to incorporate them into the paper. I'm having some difficulty with some of the data in Turkey 2008. I used the WHO anthro macro in STATA (which I have used before for other datasets from DHS) to calculate bmi z scores for children under 5. I am getting estimates that 90% of children are underweight which is very different from the report that was published (3%). I also tried evaluating BMI by age and sex subgroups to see if I was running the macro incorrectly (using hw2 and hw3) and was getting the same results?
best

Hey there,
I'm also having a problem with the child height and weight variables for Turkey DHS 2008. I'm using the hw70 variable in my research project. Before 2013, this variable is missing from the datasets. For the years 1993-2003, I'm able to retrieve this variable from the "Height and Weight Scores - WHO Child Growth Standards" supplementary dataset. But for 2008, this supplementary dataset is not available and the variable also doesn't exist in the BR dataset. When I calculate this measure using the zscore06 command in Stata, I'm not able to replicate the numbers from other years, and therefore the 2008 values I created are also questionable. I'd appreciate your help on this.
Thanks,
Selen
