Hello,
I would like to use the variable "type of place of residence" which has been defined as "Type of place of residence where the household resides as either urban or rural" from Malawi DHS data sets to analyze the correlation between acute respiratory infections in under five children and household factors. However I would like to ask for further clarification on the definition of the variable. How does the DHS differentiate urban from rural area/What features do they look for in order to say this place is urban and this is rural.

attached is a table containing all the variables of interest for my study.

Regards
