Dear DHS administrators,
I am working with the Jordan 2017 data, and trying to recreate the wealth index. Using the information posted on the spreadsheet for this survey on Wealth Index page, I have a few questions.
1. The links in the right most column - Jordan 2017-18 sps.pdf and Jordan 2017-18 sps.txt do not appear to work. Could you please update these and let me know when they are functional.
2. The mean and standard deviation for variable sh120a (has bed/sofa bed) does not match between the data and all 3 tabs of the excel file (common, urban, rural). Could you please indicate how it was calculated?
3. The creation of the asset weight for variables sh120a, sh121aa, sh122a, sh122b, each of which is asked as a continuous variable, and whose mean is reported as such, appear inconsistent with this approach. The asset weight is defined as (1-mean/sd)*componentweight, as would be expected for a dichotomous variable. Could you please explain this approach?
4. The mean value of memsleep does not match the User Statistics document. It is not hv012/hv216. Could you please indicate how it was calculated?
