The request is submitted by HelpAge International.
While gender-based violence by a non-intimate partner is recognized and captured by the DHS (Domestic violence module questions DV16-DV25) it focuses on physical and sexual abuse. However women also face psychological abuse from non-partners such as relatives, neighbours, work colleagues, or strangers. Comparable country data on this topic remains limited.
Therefore HelpAge International requests that:
i. A question on emotional abuse by a non-intimate partner is introduced in the 'Domestic violence module', and
ii. Information is collected for of all female members of household regardless of age.
