Hi,
I would like to calculate the mortality history before nth child of a mother.

A. B C D E
1 3 1 0 1
1 2 2 1 0
1 1 3 0 0
2 5 1 0 3
2 4 2 1 2
2 3 3 0 2
2 2 4 1 1
2 1 5 1 0

Suppose, this is the data set. where
A= Mother id
B=Bord
C=Bidx
D=Mortality status
E=Mortality burden

I wish to calculate E. Please suggest how could I do that in stata.

You post no explanation of what E means. What do codes 0, 1, 2, 3 mean here. Is this the number of prior deaths? I suggest you post the code that you have produced so far, and request how to modify the code to produce your variable of interest.
