Hello,

My group and I are looking into the surveys sample domains and how do they differ from standard region variables (v024). Is there a list of surveys indicating which ones have representativeness by smaller domains other than the standard region? If so, would the corresponding variable be available in this list as well?

For example, in Malawi 2015 we have v024 containing 3 regions but there is a district variable called shdist. The sample was designed to be representative at district level.

Thanks in advance

Following is a response from Senior DHS Sampling Specialist, Mahmoud Elkasabi:

In all DHS surveys, the user should be able to find the survey domains stated in the sampling design section, usually in Appendix A.
