Hello,
I'm new to this forum. Would appreciate it if someone could post SPSS syntax/Excel files for calculating infant, child and under-5 mortality rates for the 2003, 2008 and/or 2013 NDHS. So far I have found one or two files on this forum but they are either STATA files or files that don't work well at reproducing rates shown in the DHS reports for Nigeria.

Dear User,
I suggest you take a look at the Guide to DHS Statistics. The calculation of the mortality estimates in DHS surveys is described in the Guide to DHS Statistics http:// www.dhsprogram.com/publications/publication-dhsg1-dhs-questi onnaires-and-manuals.cfm pages 90-94, so you can see if your approach differs from the DHS standard approach. At this time we do not have the SPSS code to distribute. After reviewing the recommended resource, if you still have questions, please feel free to post again.
Thank you!
