Dear all,

I have been having a great amount of trouble locating the height records for all children within the Indonesian DHS .dta files. I have been working within STATA and I have used the DHS standard recode manual (VI) to identify the variables which pertain to children's heights (variable: hw3). I noticed that within each variable for children's height within the Births' data - Birth's Recode (BR) and Children's Data - Children's Recode (KR) files, the data for heights is recorded as missing (.), yet the variable for children's birth weights (m19) contains data.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on where to locate these values or if there is a particular explanation as to why they are recorded as missing within these .dta files?

Thank you,

Rachel

Dear User,
The reason you are not finding the variables is because none of the Indonesia DHS surveys done under The DHS Program have ever collected this data. Therefore, anthropometric data does not exist for these surveys.
Thank you!
