The DHS website shows that the 2000 Turkmenistan DHS Database is not in the public domain. So as a university researcher, may I request the access to Turkmenistan data?

Unfortunately, we do not have rights to distribute the Turkmenistan data. However, you are free to request special permission from the Implementing Agency. Their contact information can be found in the final report: http://www.dhsprogram.com/pubs/pdf/FR130/FR130.pdf
