Hi all,
Please I will like your help. I am working with the cameroon DHS women Survey for the years 1998, 2004 and 2011. I would like to put all the three survey into one file for analysis in stata
Please can someone help me on how to go about this?

Following is a response from Senior DHS Stata Specialist, Tom Pullum:
You have to be careful what you do with a combined file. It will not refer to a well-defined population. But if you insist on doing this, you should first reduce each file to the variables you want. Then open one of them; add the second with "append using...."; then add the third with "append using....." You can distinguish between the surveys with v001 or v007 or you can add some other identifier such as "survey" that is 1 for the first survey, 2 for the second survey, and 3 for the third survey.
