Hi! I am curious to know when will the data for the fourth round of NFHS be released. I am looking forward to it for my further analysis.

Following is a response from Senior DHS Stata Specialist, Fred Arnold:

The second phase of fieldwork for NFHS-4 is just getting underway and the fieldwork will probably last until the end of the summer. State fact sheets for the first phase states, with more than 100 key indicators, will be released in the next few days. You can check the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare website periodically since the fact sheets will be uploaded soon.

According to news reports, NFHS-4 report on 13 states and 2 union territories have been released. Is it possible to get the data sets for those 13 states (for educational and research purposes)?

Datasets will not be available until fieldwork in all states is completed and the national report is published. We anticipate this may happen sometime in 2017.

There is no fixed date for the availability of the NFHS-4 dataset, but the data should be available later this year.

The NFHS-4 data will most likely be available by the end of this month. If not, then January is the best bet.
