Dear DHS,
Please, dear, I am working on the barrier to ANC utilization in Enugu State, South East Nigeria. This is my first time using the DHS dataset. Please, which recode data is desirable? Also, how do I select data on women from Enugu State using SPSS?
Thanks

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:
The best file for this purpose, for the most recent survey in Nigeria, is probably the child file, NGKR7B. This is a file of children born in the past 5 years. The variable that specifies state of residence is "sstate" and Enugu is sstate=270.
Even though your main interest is in Enugu state, it could be helpful to gain some context by comparing Enugu with the South East region as a whole, or with all of Nigeria. We have some resources on the website, such as the Guide to DHS Statistics https://www.dhsprogram.com/Data/Guide-to-DHS-Statistics/index.cfm. Good luck with your research.
