Dear Sir/Madam,
I am getting base number for the "Table 11.19 Matters discussed during contacts with a health worker" but not getting reported figures as given in the India report for the NFHS-4 and NFHS-5.
For your kind information, please find output table and suggest which variables/condition should apply for reported figures.
Please help.
With Regards,
Kailashi Chandra Lakhara

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:
I have prepared a program that I believe should match Table 11.19 in the NFHS5 report (ATTACHED), but I can only match the subtotals for columns 1, 3, and 4. I do not match the percentages in the table or the total for column 2.
This is a complicated table, because the rows come from different questions and the percentages in each column do not need to add to 100. I am attaching the program because it shows how to handle multiple-option variables, with different sub-populations in the different columns, and how to copy labels. Because there are so many problems with the NFHS-4 and -5 and this is a non-standard table, it is quite possible that the table in the report is wrong. However, it is also possible that my program has errors, and I will be grateful if anyone can provide a program that DOES match Table 11.19!
As I have said in other posts, IIPS had main responsibility for these surveys. I don't believe that DHS staff had any role is preparing this particular table.

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:
Here is the program I was referring to, ATTACHMENT. It is a text file. You just need to paste it into the Stata command line, with your paths to the data and to a workspace.
