Are these variables being collected in the 2017 or 2022 Philippines NDHS data (IR file):
-Blood/biological tests such as CBC particularly hemoglobin, vitamin A, and iodine
status

We downloaded the DHS file and it contains no data or NA. Is there no data at all for the blood/biological tests mentioned above?

Following is a response from DHS staff member, Tom Pullum:

You can check for the presence of specific variables in a survey by looking at the final report, as well as the data files. I checked and it does appear that blood samples were not taken, but the usual questions about iodine, vitamin A supplements, etc., that do not require a blood sample, were included.

If a variable is not included in the standard recode files, then it wasn't collected.
